The memories of the past, that intertwine with the present

The episodes of flashback, some pleasant, some unpleasant

The memories of the past, that bring back that smile

To relive those days care free, only if I could go back in time

The memories of the past, that reminds of the crazy me

I wish I would not have changed so much, and let myself be

The memories of the past, reminds me of those special friends

I just took them for granted, only if my mistakes I could ever mend

The memories of the past, reminds how I lost the love of my life

I was so obsessed with myself, I wish I understood acceptance isn’t compromise

The memories of the past, reminds me of those hurtful words

If only I could take them back, is what I still yearn

The memories of the past, the beloved ones, who forever I lost

So busy I was in the daily hustle, life is short, is what I completely forgot

The memories of the past, some bitter, some sweet

Wish I could bury the bitter and cherish only the sweet

The memories of the past, let them serve as life’s lessons

Let them not define your present and brood into an obsession

Embrace your past and focus on the present

Redefine your memories by today’s actions, the past is already obsolescent
